I went on a trip last Friday to Chesters. I thought looking at old Roman stones wouldn't be fun for a chap but there was lots of field to play in, things to climb and treats when they stopped for coffee......which they did rather a lot,  my friend Ben came too so I had company. Rather a good day actually.

Somehow I don't think they're dogs?????

Friday, 9 August 2013

I went to Debbie's house yesterday and she has a garden just made for dogs. I chased rabbits and played in the woods and ran until I was out of breath. You have to look carefully at the photo to spot me coming out of the woods. P spent a long time picking bits out of my fur then Debbie gave me ice cream, it was a good day.

I am suffering a little in this hot weather but P has cut a lot of my long coat off and that helps a bit. I was really pleased tonight when Roisin and Rosie arrived to take me for a walk, I thought it may be too hot for them. We had a great walk, then, just after we got back I spied a rather fetching little white dog across the road. This had to be checked out so I set off at a run with Roisin and Rosie in hot pursuit and P bringing up a rather feeble rear. She was a very nice little dog in a very becoming pink collar and I rather hope I see her again.

Yesterday I was taken to Berwick on a walk around the Town Walls. The walls were to protect the town from invaders so I kept an eagle eye out for them through the gaps.
Unfortunately, being rather short, my view wasn't good so P lifted me up onto one of the canons so that I could see. Not one of her better ideas, I didn't like it at all so was very quickly lifted down.

Today we are off to Scout Camp at Keilder, as I am troupe mascot I feel it is my duty to turn out for such important events. What a busy weekend.

I have two new friends, horses have come to live in the field at the bottom of the garden. They are very large but I have got used to them now and they come down to chat to me most evenings. I like friends.

Some really interesting things happen in my village, not so long ago I went to a Mad Hatter's Tea Party with the Scouts, it was great. I went as The King of Hearts and if I do say so myself I looked rather good.

Yesterday was the school Summer Fair and a big red bus came full of singing children. When they went into school to sing I took advantage of the bus to sit in the shade.

This is Hazel, the new kitten in Surrey. She looks rather sweet, I wonder if she'll like me????

AN EVEN LONGER GAP???

P definitely gets worse but she has promised that from now on she will keep my post up to date. I am my normal happy healthy self and life in a small village goes on much as normal. Kim's house is now full of animals but I don't feel able to share my kingdom with anyone else.
It must be like living in a zoo down in Surrey and I hear there is a new kitten now called Hazel, I'll put her photo up next time.
I was taken on a trip to Holy Island when Kim came to stay and I was very very cold and almost blew away!
Christmas morning, I got a lovely fur pillow to sleep on. I don't think P did well choosing the colour because you can hardly see me.
P finally got her degree last year with the Open University and she said I had been such a help to her that I should have my own cap and gown. I did deserve it of course, you have NO idea how many essays I had to listen to.
I will be back in a few days to share some stories. xx
